"This monument honors those who, at the call of their country, left all that was dear to them, endured hardships, faced danger, and by the path of duty, sacrificed their lives so that others may live in freedom. Memories may fade, but these names will never be forgotten."
Toward the East end of Elma, lying between E. Young and E. Main Streets, local Eagle Scouts and Eagle Scout Candidates have constructed a beautiful memorial to Elma residents that have died during their military service in WWI, WWII, Korea and Vietnam. The memorial presents a stunning vista to those entering Elma from the East. The Scouts who, with the help of their parents and the U. S. Marines, have created this stunning addition to Elma are:
- Issac Brumbaugh
- Michael Gay
- Elliot Loucks
- Chase Meister
